UC students gather downtown for CatCrawl night

Downtown Merced was filled with Bobcats this past Friday night as UC Merced’s CatCrawl event took to Bob Hart Square and Main Street.

Held just as the fall semester gets underway, the event helps introduce new students to local businesses throughout the downtown Merced, and bring returning students back into the fold.

In total more than 30 local businesses throughout the district took part in the event, allowing students to make their way into all the great restaurants, coffee houses, entertainment locations, and more.

In addition to learning what downtown Merced has to offer, the attending students were also able to take part in a raffle for various prizes, seek out arts and entertainment activities provided by the campus, and sample food from the dining areas available on the campus at various booths setup in Bob Hart Square.

Also present during the event was the Office of Student Life, CropMobster, the Student Alumni Association, and informational booth aimed at returning, transfer, and veteran students, as well as those interested in studying abroad or researching international affairs.
