Every election season, the Merced County Association of Realtors organizes a series of forums to find out where the candidates stand on the issues.

Tired of online “Zoom” meetings and following the most current health safety guidelines due to the ongoing pandemic, the Realtors this year decided to go ahead and hold a series of in-person, question-and-answer sessions.

The first forum was held Tuesday night and only a dozen or so top board members of the association, and a few members of the media, were invited to attend. However, the session was broadcast live on the association’s Facebook page, where it can still be viewed.

The event included Allen Brooks, a candidate for the District 3 seat on the Merced City Council, and District 5 candidates Sarah Boyle and Jeremy Martinez. Brooks’ challenger, Bertha Perez, was invited but did not attend the event. The moderator was Realtor Andy Krotik of Atwater.

The series will continue next week with the candidates vying for the District 1 seat on the Merced City Council.
