The streets of downtown Merced were lined with families and fans of bike racing as the annual Merced Centurion Bike Race made its return to the area last weekend.
The all-day event brought together top riders and teams from throughout the country to take on the road course that went through M Street, 18th Street and N Street, and looped around Courthouse Park.
The racing featured various men’s and women’s categories, and dozens of pro riders who competed with great intensity amid a scenic backdrop of the blooming trees that line M Street.
Organized by Velo Productions, the Centurion Bike Race on Sunday was preceded by the annual Snelling Road Race on Saturday, which brought a cycling competition to a 23.7 mile loop of country roads west of Snelling.
