Merced residents lined Main Street last Saturday as they welcomed in the holiday spirit with the city’s annual Downtown Christmas Parade.
Despite the gloomy weather and rain, which let up just in time for the start of the parade, hundreds of residents showed up and lined the sidewalks. The theme for the parade was “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree Through the Ages,” and dozens of floats, dance groups, community organizations, car clubs, and more joined in to celebrate.
Later, people gathered at Bob Hart Square to witness the annual MERCO Credit Union Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. They also were invited to enjoy hot chocolate together and take photos in front of the tree.
