New MAC exhibit celebrates Black History Month
The art exhibit “Equality and Justice for All” is on show through Feb. 27 at the Multicultural Arts Center (MAC) in downtown Merced.
The exhibit coincides with Black History Month and highlights a collaboration between the NAACP Merced County Branch and the MAC.
The show features work by local artists Chavella Dobbins, TC the Diva and Eddie O. Rodriguez. It’s all on view in the Main Gallery and Mezzanine Gallery on the second level. There is a community art project featured upstairs in what is known as the Skylight Gallery.
An opening reception is set for Saturday, Feb. 19, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. It’s free for the public to attend.
The Merced Multicultural Arts Museum (MAC) is located at 645 West Main Street in Merced.
GALLERY HOURS: Wednesday-Friday, 2 p.m.— 8 p.m.; Saturday 11 a.m. — 6 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.— 4 p.m.
