It’s to time open our arms, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the sunny skies along with some magnificent dance talent provided by the the 41st annual Kiki Raina Tahiti Fete — one of the largest such competitions held outside of the Pacific islands, and unique to Merced.

This year’s event will be held at Golden Valley High School on March 18, 19, and 20. The theme will be “Hopes and Dreams.”

During Monday night’s Merced City Council meeting, leaders and residents were treated to a brief Tahitian dance presentation from our local team members in the South Pacific Dancy Company. Longtime instructor and Kiki Raina founder Rebecca Manandic or “Auntie Beckie” introduced the dancers and shared details about the upcoming showcase.
