Ring in the holidays and experience the magic of The Nutcracker — the beloved holiday classic for all ages.
The Merced Academy of Dance has been performing this full-length classic ballet for more than 25 years.
Public performances will be held this weekend at the Buhach Colony High School theater located in Atwater at 1800 N. Buhach Road.
• Friday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. • Saturday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. & 7 p.m. Tickets are available one hour before the shows, and online at: tututix.com. Assigned seating ticket prices are $15, $20 and $25 per seat. Persons ages 2 and above require a ticket. Children under the age of 2 are free, but must be seated on a lap.
In addition to an enchanting performance, also visit the Nutcracker Sweet Shoppe where organizers will offer various handmade Nutcracker and Ballet themed goods, including sweets, decorated pointe shoes, a gift-basket silent auction, and other souvenirs. All of the profits will go to support the MSSM Foundation that provides ballet scholarships to the studio annually.
This event is presented by the academy and the Merced Civic Ballet, in memory of Melanie Willis McFadden, a local ballet dancer and student who died in 2002 at age 17.
