Hundreds of locals came to rummage through the event.
Hundreds of happy Mercedians took advantage of the great weather over the weekend to support the annual Love INC Rummage sale at Valley Bible Church.
The Rummage sale is essentially a huge yard sale that is supplied through generous donations as well as the church and is made possible through the efforts of an array of fantastic volunteers. You can find furniture, clothes, art, trinkets and more for a tiny fraction of the usual costs, all while supporting families in need across the valley because the profit is used to fund Love INC’s philanthropy.
“Each year we get a lot of donations and we clear out our warehouses to put on this sale — and the money goes to help families that are in need,” says Annette Macias, leader and event organizer of Love INC. “We just so appreciate all those who have donated and have come out. We are getting a really good response today. Thank you to everybody of the community who are supporting it.”
While Love INC will be taking their usual break throughout the summer to rest, plan, and gather more resources in order to support those in need, their next charity event scheduled is their Coats For Hope drive planned for this fall. Additionally, Love INC is still actively supporting flood victims from Planada, so any extra supplies, household goods, and appliances are in great demand and thus desired. If you are interested in supporting their cause, are in need yourself and need assistance, or simply want to learn more, you can visit their website, loveincmerced.com, or call them at (209) 383-1265 (they are open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Monday to Thursday).
