Our father, Dominic Giampietro, lovingly passed away with family by his side at the age of 90 years old.

Dad was born and raised in Los Banos, served in the US Air Force during the Korean War from 1953-1956, met our mother Joyce Elaine Bleau in Michigan and was married on February 11, 1953. They were married for 66 years before Mom’s passing in March 2022.

When Dad moved to Merced in 2010, he joined the Italo-American Lodge and was an active member until his passing. He loved to be in the kitchen and was very well known for the time he gave to cook for others and to support the lodge by selling hundreds of tickets for fundraising events. Dad was grateful for the “many brothers” who filled an absence in his life.

Dad lived a very full and long life, he enjoyed giving to others, travelled with family, and loved to be in the mountains, alongside a river full of fish. His grandsons will never forget the annual camping trips that he would spend months planning for them.

Dad’s passing was a beautiful story, a story few are able to experience. Our family was truly blessed that God gave us the opportunity to share time with Dad before his passing, to recollect fond memories, to pray together and to shower him abundantly with love.

Dominic Giampietro (a.k.a. Papa) will be forever remembered and missed by those whose lives he touched, but mostly by his (6) children, (14) grandchildren and (18) great-grandchildren.

The Italo-American Lodge will be hosting a Memorial Service on Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. for close family and friends, and his burial service will be private at San Joaquin National Cemetery in January.

Cards or letters of fond remembrances may be mailed to: The Cesars home, 3037 Whitegate Drive, Merced, CA 95340 to share with out-of-state family.
