CCBR puts best marching bands on full display

Hundreds of California residents descended on Golden Valley High School last Saturday as the Central California Band Review got underway.

The annual competition pits the state’s best marching bands, jazz bands, and field shows against one another.

Now in its 60th year, this year’s event brought together 36 marching bands from throughout the Central Valley and Central Coast, including local Merced County high schools like Golden Valley, Merced, El Capitan, Buhach Colony, Atwater, Livingston and Los Banos. Meanwhile, local middle schools such as Cruickshank, Tenaya, Hoover, Winton, Weaver and Livingston also competed in their own division during the event.
