Ballico resident shares her story of alopecia on ‘Stories from the Stage’

Stories from the Stage, the acclaimed WORLD Channel series that brings real-life people to American television screens to share true stories of the ordinary and the wonderous moments in life, returns this month for its sixth season.
The season premiere features the story of Ballico resident Luciana Naldi and her work to rethink her ideas of beauty as a woman living with alopecia.
Naldi’s story is told in the season opener episode called Changemakers on Monday, Sept. 26. The episode spotlights three women who paved the way for change for themselves and those around them — challenging expectations on beauty, breaking glass ceilings and working to help those in need, despite the consequences.
After being diagnosed with alopecia, Naldi works to find a new definition of beauty for herself and those around her. A physical and food educator, a former collegiate athlete and a mother to two sets of twins born two years apart, Naldi was always aware of her body. How will her life change as her physical appearance changes? While she learns to accept that her loss of hair does not equal a loss of beauty and femininity, she also learns that it might be a harder lesson for her own children and the adults around them.
The episode premieres nationwide on television on Sept. 26. Audiences in the United States and around the world can also hear it as part of Stories from the Stage: The Podcast starting that day as well.
