Art Fans Get Their Party On During Mardi Gras at MAC
Residents and revelers alike made their way to the Merced Multicultural Arts Center last Friday night to dance the night away and support arts programming.
To host the annual Mardi Gras event, the Merced Multicultural Arts Center transformed its gallery spaces into a rousing and colorful party complete with Fortune Telling and a French Market.
The downtown event also brought together a wide array of authentic dishes for those in attendance to try, including: jambalaya, muffuletta, hurricane and muddy water drinks, and fresh beignets.
Residents dined and danced to numerous live bands who were on hand to perform, including the BluesBox Bayou, The Swing Set Jazz Band, and Gloria Coronas.
As the event came to a close, those looking to make sure they remembered the night’s festivities were invited to purchase locally made Mardi Gras masks created by Merced based artists.
