More than 1,200 young athletes from about 42 schools in Merced County competed last Friday and Saturday during the 75th annual Jim North Memorial Junior Olympics at Golden Valley High School’s Veterans Stadium.
The local track and field event has always been sponsored by the Merced Kiwanis Club.
Top qualifiers in several divisions will go on to the 2019 Valley Championships.
