WOOFSTOCK Is Coming This Fall
New Beginnings for Merced County Animals will hold its third annual WOOFSTOCK vendor fair and food truck festival on Saturday, Oct. 7. The festivities will be held at the Merced County Fairgrounds (Pavilion area) from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
This event is FREE to the public. Last year, more than 75 vendors and a dozen food trucks/food vendors enjoyed the business of approximately 2,000 attendees. The expectation for 2023 will be over 100 vendors, additional food trucks (including some local-made beer), two fantastic local bands, and more fun for all!
This year Woofstock will include a dog park with a PUPARAZZI costume contest. Well-behaved dogs are encouraged to spend some time at the dog park and may even win a prize for their costume.
New Beginnings for Merced County Animals will have Woofstock T-shirts for sale, fresh baked Peach and Apple pies and donated gift baskets (some donated by vendors, others by volunteers or the public). There will also be a fantastic Raffle Drawing that will include trips to Mexico, Tahoe, a Staycation and a large television. Raffle tickets will be sold prior to the event and also the day of the event (You do not have to be present to win!) The winners will be announced at the end of the day.
Woofstock is the largest annual fundraiser for New Beginnings, and all profits are used to provide food, medical care and transportation for the abandoned and abused animals of Merced County.
New Beginnings for Merced County Animals is a non-profit organization. The group’s mission is to create a new standard in rescue operation with education and community involvement to end the suffering of animals who are lost, abandoned, or given up to the Merced County shelter.
The volunteers work endlessly to rescue animals in the local area. They work to educate the community on the benefits and resources of Spay and Neuter, and they offer vouchers and incentives for local residents to get low-cost vaccinations.
New Beginnings transports animals to no-kill rescues in California and surrounding states, and works with other animal non-profits to help find loving homes for thousands of animals. The group also works with local veterinarians to get medical help to countless animals in need.
