The exhibition ‘Women in Arts Education: Past and Present’ is currently on show at the Merced Multicultural Arts Center through April 6.
An artists’ reception is set for Saturday, March 16, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Held in conjunction with National Women’s History Month in March, the exhibit features more than 50 artworks by 31 women artist-educators, teaching art in high schools and higher education across Merced County. It also recognizes artists who have retired or have passed.
The show is sponsored by Fem | In | Art — supporting female artists and their many endeavors. Merced College faculty members Louisa Benhissen and Benjamin Serpa joined forces as curators to bring all the art work together in one place.
ALSO: As an added bonus, on display in the upstairs galleries is the annual Merced County High Schools Honors Art show. Come see the best art from our best local art students!
The Arts Center is located at 645 W. Main Street. Gallery hours are: Tuesday – Friday, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
