Violette Films and the Merced Theatre Foundation will present the 5th annual Violette International Film Festival on Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Art Kamangar Center inside the Merced Theater in downtown Merced.
The festival will host a red carpet event and showcase short films from local and international filmmakers. Doors open at 4 p.m.
Violette Films, a local film company based in Merced, has partnered with the Merced Theatre Foundation to make this event possible, and bring Hollywood to the Central Valley for one epic night. The goal is to bring a unique entertainment experience to the city as well as showcase some of the Central Valley’s most talented filmmakers alongside international short films from over 20 countries.
There will also be table vendors and a special combat lightsaber performance by Twightlight Knights & Kyber Cave, as well as a photo op with Cosplay characters. More information on showtimes, film blocks and more will be available soon.
“The Violette Film Festival is a family run festival with the goal of giving filmmakers of all skill levels and walks of life a chance to show what they are made of,” says Chris Velazquez, the owner of Violette Films. “With a beautiful venue at the Merced Theater, and the help of the wonderful Merced Theater Foundation, we hope to put on an amazing event that the public can enjoy, live and in person.”
