If you’ve enjoyed some of the Gallo Center Repertory Company productions over the past several seasons, including such outstanding presentations as The Diary of Anne Frank and Neil Simon’s Rumors, then please don’t miss Tuesdays with Morrie. It’s yet another example of why the Gallo Rep is must-see theater. This is the autobiographical story of Mitch Albom (Colton Dennis), an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz (Jim Johnson), his former college professor. Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch happens to catch Morrie’s appearance on a television news program and learns that his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Mitch is reunited with Morrie, and what starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a last class in the meaning of life. The play is by Mitch Albom and Jeffrey Hatcher. Merced locals Hieke Hambley directs and Colton Dennis plays Mitch Albom. Also, starring Jim Johnson as Morrie Schwartz.

The Three performances will take place from Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28. Friday and Saturday will hold their showtimes at 7:30 PM, with Sunday’s showtime beginning at 2:00 PM. Total runtime for the play is less than 90 minutes.

Tickets for the event cost $15 for any of the three performances. Those who attend any of the three performances are encouraged to hold onto their tickets, as ticket holders from any of the three days of performances are invited to take part in a post-show question and answer session. Scheduled to take place at 3:30 PM, the question and answer session will allow participants additional insight into the creative thoughts and processes of both the cast and director of Tuesdays with Morrie.
