New Young Lady as Miss Merced County

By The Merced County Times On May 10, 2018

Merced High FFA standout Cassandra Valdez was crowned Miss Merced County earlier this year, but unfortunately she had to bow out of the obligation due to new academic opportunities. The First Runner Up in the competition was 17-year-old Angela Matthews of El Capitan High School, and so now, Matthews is the new Miss Merced County. The Times spotted her last weekend helping out at the Boys & Girls Club Dinner, and then the next day at the Make A Wish fundraiser. Matthews says she is excited about her new role, which includes competing in June for the Miss California title!
