Louise Farley honored at Hispanic Chamber Holiday Mixer

The chilly evening was warm with gratitude for the long career of community service of Louise Farley, as the Merced County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (HCC) held their annual Holiday Mixer Thursday, Dec. 7 at Golden Valley Health Center on Childs Ave. in Merced.

Farley is set to retire from her position as District Representative at Senator Anthony Cannella’s Merced District Office at the end of the year. She received awards from Annissa Fragoso of State Farm Insurance and HCC Secretary, and Jailene Gutierrez of Congressman Jim Costa’s office.

Farley thanked the group, “I am honored to be recognized by this very vital chamber. You have always made me feel welcome at all of your events.”

Fragoso introduced HCC board members in attendance: AAA Life Insurance Specialist Norma Hernandez, San Joaquin Drug Marketing Manager Diana Odum Gunn, and Friends of Sober Grad Nite President Jeremy Jenkins.

Host for the evening, Golden Valley Health Center’s COO Rueben Chavez spoke  about the history and services they provide. “Our roots are in helping farm worker populations starting in 1972. We have not lost who we are. We now have 36 health centers in valley communities in Merced, Stanislaus and San Joaquin Counties,” he said.

“We are excited to host the Hispanic Chamber tonight. We can’t do what we do without collaboration with many others in the communities we serve.”
