Christmas joy fills historic County Courthouse
The 38th annual Christmas Open House at the Courthouse Museum in downtown Merced was a joyous and crowded affair, topped off with holiday cheer, more than 80 decorated community trees, and local musical talent.
Visitors were treated to eggnog and cookies, and performances by the Central Presbyterian Church Handbell Choir, Our Lady of Mercy School Christmas Choir, Harmony Valley Chorus, Merced Baroque Sinfonia, Sandra Stocking’s Flute Group, and St. Anthony School Choir.
The museum gift store was a hotspot for holiday gifts. The Christmas gnomes made by museum volunteers were a big hit. The store and the museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Christmas tree exhibit will run through Dec. 30.
The Courthouse Museum is located at 21st and N Streets in downtown Merced.
