Fireworks ready to go at Lake McClure

Camping, fishing, Splash-n-Dash are all set at Lake McSwain too!

The 2025 Lights on the Lake fireworks display will begin at dusk, or around 9 p.m., at Lake McClure on Saturday, July 5.

Recreation at Lakes McClure and McSwain is open all day with fireworks viewing areas open at McClure Point at 6 p.m. Entrance to the Lake McClure fireworks viewing area will be through the MID Parks Entrance at 9090 Lake McClure Road, Snelling.

The entrance fee to MID Parks for the event is $25 per vehicle when pre-purchased (highly recommended) through Yodel available via the website: lakemcclure.com. Limited same-day tickets may be available at the gate for $30 the day of the event. Fireworks parking will open at 6 p.m. The boat entrance fee is $9 per trailer.

Annual pass holders have free entry into this event and can bring their hangtag or annual-Yodel pass. Those with an annual-pass boat sticker, do not need to pay an additional fee. Annual Passes can be purchased online at: lakemcclure.com.

Visitors are welcome to arrive early and spend the day at Lakes McClure and McSwain. Parking will be available in designated areas. Vehicles left in no-parking zones may be ticketed. Limited camping may still be available at Lake McClure. Visitors are also welcome to enjoy the show from their boats. All night-time navigation laws will be enforced. Unless already a current annual boat-pass holder, visitors to the event must also purchase a $9 Event Boat Day Use ticket through Yodel.

Bring your friends, family and folding chairs to enjoy a great show. Be prepared with sunscreen and appropriate clothing for hot weather. Remember to bring food and drinks, ice chests and plenty of ice. If viewing the fireworks from a boat, be prepared for an extended wait returning to the launch ramp and consider having extra dry towels and warm clothing, as well as a flashlight.

Do NOT bring your own personal fireworks. They are prohibited in Mariposa County. Please be advised: all local ordinances will be enforced. Law enforcement will be present throughout the event.

With summer heating up, Lakes McClure and McSwain are open, stocked with fish, and ready to welcome visitors for a season packed with recreation, relaxation and celebration.

Whether it’s casting a line, pitching a tent, or making a splash, there’s something for everyone this summer. That includes the return of Splash-n-Dash Aqua Park for the entire family. Now entering its eighth season, Splash-n-Dash has become one of the most popular summer attractions in the region with its massive floating playground featuring inflatable slides, obstacle courses and more. Campgrounds and day-use areas are open at both lakes, offering scenic views, full lake levels, boating, shaded picnic spots and family-friendly amenities. Regular fish plants are underway, making both lakes prime destinations for anglers of all ages.

“We’re proud to offer affordable, high-quality recreation opportunities for families across the Central Valley and beyond,” said Brooke Gutierrez, MID Director of Parks and Recreation. “This summer is shaping up to be one of the best we’ve seen in years.”
