What does an iconic 1911 home – recently renovated, an urban farmhouse that defines country charm,  a two-story home that features elegantly appointed rooms, and a one-level contemporary home with an emphasis on outdoor living spaces have in common?

All are included in the Carnegie Arts Center’s Art of Design: Home & Garden Tour this spring in Turlock.

If you are interested in home design, planning a remodel, or just looking for inspiration, you should mark your calendar for two exciting events coming up on May 12-13.

On Saturday May 13, guests will tour beautifully designed indoor and outdoor spaces at four unique and distinctive properties. The homes can be visited in any order during the public hours of 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $30 ($25 for CAC members); tickets purchased on the day of the event are $35.

On Friday, May 12, from 6-10 p.m. a special evening fundraiser, the  Twilight Tour,  will take place at one of Turlock’s most historic homes which will also be featured on the Home & Garden Tour.

“We are excited to highlight one remarkable home in an evening fundraising event with local cuisine, wine and beer. Why not make a weekend of it?” suggests Carnegie Arts Center Director Lisa McDermott. Twilight Tour  attendees will enjoy a preview look inside this elegant home and around the extensive grounds that include a restored 1892 barn, tack room/guest quarters, pool, tennis court and baseball diamond. Tickets for the  Twilight Tour  are $90 ($75 for Carnegie members).

Visit the CAC website for links to buy tickets and learn more. Ticket purchasers will receive addresses for the homes on the tour.

Proceeds from these events support the Carnegie Arts Center, one of the area’s most important cultural assets. With classes for all ages, a wide-ranging schedule of exhibitions, lectures, films, concerts, theater, poetry and more, the Carnegie is the region’s resource for discovering and learning through the arts. Community support makes it possible for the Carnegie to provide much-needed opportunities in youth arts education, including scholarships for youth classes, transportation for school field trips, young artist exhibitions, and free family activities.

The  2023 Art of Design  events are presented this year by event sponsors John & Nellie Lazar Real Estate Services.
