Continuing a beloved and enduring tradition, tiny dancers from Denisa’s School of Dance signaled the start of spring with their annual search for the Easter Bunny inside the Marketplace at Merced this past Saturday, March 28.
The Marketplace was filled to the brim with supportive family members and fellow local residents who enjoyed several dance performances.
The Bunny will be at the Marketplace for one week only, through April 4, giving families a limited-time to capture this seasonal favorite for holiday photos. Pet lovers can also look forward to the return of Pet Photo Night on Monday, March 30, from 3 p.m to 7 p.m., welcoming furry family members to join in the fun. During the opening event, all of the dancers linked together in a long line behind Denisa, the dance instructor, and searched high and low for the legendary Easter Bunny. Eventually, he was spotted and he was promptly led back to his home in the center of the Mall to enjoy the dance recital. For the performance, Denisa’s young dance teams performed to four fun and silly songs about the season, and showed off their incredible costumes.
Numerous parents and loved ones were filled with joy seeing what their little ones have learned in their time learning from Denisa.
“It’s for the expression of the kids, for the experience of the new dancers being in front of an audience for the first time, costuming, and of course, the joy of dance,” Denisa told the Times.
She then urged the community to bring out their kiddos and have them try out her School of Dance, saying, “Please, if you are interested, we take ages 3 and up, and we do ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop.”
The event ended with each of the dance groups taking group photos with the Easter Bunny in his iconic Teapot House in the Center of the Marketplace.
