Water conservation has long been a priority for Teasdale, and we’re proud to share the significant progress we’ve made in reducing our water footprint. In California’s Central Valley, where water is a limited and valuable resource, taking action is not optional—it’s essential. Our Atwater facility, which produces approximately $80 million in products annually, relies heavily on California-grown ingredients and consistent water use to maintain high-quality operations. That’s why we’ve made targeted investments to reduce our water usage while increasing our production output.
Over the past several years, our team has made tremendous strides in reusing and recycling water within our plant. While we’ve received some assistance from our external engineering partners, most of this work has been done internally—by Teasdale staff who know our operations best. Their innovation and commitment have led to a dramatic reduction of approximately 500,000 gallons of water per production day.
This improvement means we’re drawing significantly less water from the local aquifer and discharging far less to our primary water receiver. The result is a more efficient system that benefits not only our operations, but also our community and the environment. Reducing our draw from the aquifer helps preserve groundwater for future generations, and cutting back on discharge supports regional water treatment capacity and sustainability.
These efforts are part of our larger “Sustaining Growth, Conserving Water” initiative—our vision for combining economic advancement with environmental responsibility. As a food producer deeply embedded in the Central Valley, we believe we can do both: grow our business and protect the resources that support it.
