Shrimp lovers get your appetites ready.

Merced Sunrise Rotary is hosting its annual Bob Hobbs Memorial Shrimp Feed on March 12 this year.

There will be challenges in selling the 800 seats which are being sold for the event at $50 each; however, the local club is optimistic.

The Shrimp Feed will be held inside the Pavilion building at the Merced County Fairgrounds, with a social at 5:45 p.m., and dinner at 7 p.m. In the past this event has funded most of the projects sponsored by the Sunrise Rotary Club. The tickets can be purchased online at: mercedsunriserotary.org. The ticket link is right on the home page. Tickets can also be purchased from any member of the club.

The event is held as a memorial to Bob Hobbs who was a distinguished member of the club for years. There is an auction with great prizes, and a $1,000 door prize in which the ticket owner need not be present to win.

The club debated whether to hold the annual Shrimp Feed because of Covid; however, the board felt by March 12, the latest Covid strain will have run its course.
