A light rain made way for a wonderful rainbow over Merced on St. Patrick’s Day, and it didn’t go unnoticed by all the people celebrating with great food and drink at the Roberta Flanagan Realtor firm.
“That’s Roberta visiting us,” said daughter Kay Flanagan of her mother and the rainbow.
Roberta Flanagan, the local Realtor and family matriarch, died last May. For 22 years or so, she had led the annual holiday get-together inside the offices of the business she established on G and 21st streets.
So the merry event was a little bittersweet this year, and there was even talk about it being the last St. Patrick’s Day event of its kind at the business.
Whatever comes to pass, one thing is true.
All who came to the Flanagan’s feast left with Roberta’s favorite Irish blessing:
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face
and until we meet again.
May the Lord hold you
in the palm of his hand.
Wonderful ‘Wild Game’ Night
The Flanagan family of Realtors were among the big winners in the most recent auction by the Charitable Foundation of the Merced County Association of Realtors. They bid on Mike Salvadori’s donation of an extravagant “wild game” dinner. Recently, the Flanagans were very happy to cash in on the prize, mostly caught by Bobby Rogina, and prepared by Salvadori.
