Sourdough and Co. deli is now open in Atwater

Sourdough and Co. at 1809 Bellevue Road in Atwater arrived to serve the local community with a unique product line at its soft opening on Jan. 15.

The restaurant offers high quality deli sandwiches, fresh soups, gourmet salads, and baked goods. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the stylish decor creates a sense of comfort.

RajPal Singh, the proud owner of the new business, informed the Times, “Our hours are Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“At our soft opening, City of Atwater personnel and administrators were there, and we opened the doors to the public at 11 a.m.

“People came from Merced, Turlock, Oakdale and other nearby cities, so we’ve had a lot of support and are very appreciative of it.

“Being local, I chose Atwater, and I think we have one of the best locations in the area. Everybody is very happy that we decided to open in Atwater. A lot of the comments were that Atwater needed something new and different.

“Everybody has loved the food. It has been really great!

“The sandwiches are made here. The bread is baked daily.

“We use high quality meats and produce.  We have a choice of turkey, ham, pastrami, roast beef, salami, and pepperoni, also tuna salad and chicken salad.  Our house spread is a seasoned mayo base and is loved by many of our customers.  It’s incredible.

“There is an option for bacon.  The types of cheese customers can select are Cheddar, Mozzarella, American, Provolone, Monterey Jack and Pepper Jack.

“In addition to the cold sandwiches, there are hot sandwiches such as Pastrami, Ruben and French Dip.

“The soups are Clam Chowder with the option of a bread bowl, Chicken Poblano, Creamy Tomato and Creamy Potato.

“We offer fresh green salads with quality dressing, such as bleu cheese.  The types of salad are Greek, Italian, Cobb, Southwestern and Chicken Cesar.  They are prepared with lettuce, tomatoes and avocado.

“We make fresh cookies every day — Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal and Lemon Cooler, and soon, we’ll have Double Chocolate Chip.

“The hottest items so far are the clam chowder bread bowl and also our brisket sandwich and French dip.

“The soups have been flying off the shelf, and our fresh salads as well.  We prepare everything fresh every day.

“We’re fortunate to have a very good staff, and we’ve set records as far as the company goes for the first three days.

“This is the best opening out of all the stores where Sourdough goes.  On Saturday, we were here from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and had a line out the door and almost onto the street.”
