The West Side Theatre in Newman has announced its September & October events. The venue is a beautifully restored 1940s movie house, now a non-profit arts center, at 1331 Main Street in downtown Newman. Tickets are available online at: WestSideTheatre.org, or call (209) 862-4490.

  • Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. — James Garner’s Tribute to Johnny Cash

For the past 15 years, Garner and his band have faithfully recreated Cash’s biggest hits with stunning accuracy in musical event. From special concert airings on PBS stations to shows at Folsom and San Quentin Prisons, it’s easy to see why this is the premier tribute to the “Man in Black.” The show is a fun, toe-tapping trip down memory lane honoring Johnny Cash’s life and music, and the boom-chicka-boom sound of his longtime backing band, the Tennessee Three.

 

  • Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. — Maroon Vibes Maroon 5 Tribute

Playing an endless and ever-growing barrage of chart-topping Maroon 5 hits, Maroon Vibes delivers an energetic and engaging Maroon 5 and Adam Levine experience that appeals to the masses. Featuring many of the same elements of a live Maroon 5 show, this tribute act weaves together bits of rock, pop, dance, funk, reggae, and hip-hop to keep you singing and dancing. Featuring top-talent musicians with years of industry experience, and led by a front-man who not only resembles Adam Levine, but hits the falsetto just the same, Maroon Vibes brings you the next best thing to the real artist.

Making their debut at the West Side Theatre we are excited to have them join our roster of tribute bands. They cover the world-renowned music of ZZ Top, Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers will have you Rock’n and Roll’n the entire show. With their amazing guitar licks, time tempered beats and spectacular vocal renditions of an all-American legend, Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers gives you the rocking classics that so many have grown to love.
