Rotary supporters celebrate return of annual Shrimp Feed

Merced Sunrise Rotary supporters were welcomed back to the Pavilion building at the Merced County Fairgrounds last Saturday for the club’s annual Bob Hobbs Memorial Shrimp Feed.

The event is traditionally held every March, but not for the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, the 2020 Shrimp Feed was one of the first major events in Merced to be canceled due to the virus spread in California.

The 2022 event, however, was anything but socially distant. Some 500 tickets were sold, down from the average of 800, but not bad considering the year this local region has had. And the event continued to raise thousands of dollars for local and international charity efforts sponsored by Rotary.
