One giant leap for Le Grand’s Class of ’69

You may have heard about the Summer of ’69, but some fun-loving former Le Grand students actually lived it.

Now that it’s the Summer of 2019, members of Le Grand High School’s Class of 1969 are celebrating their 50th anniversary. The came together last Saturday at the beautiful Vista Ranch & Cellars on Highway 140.

The former students enjoyed great conversation, drinks, a nice dinner, photos and lots of good times.

For younger folk who may not know, 1969 was an incredible year.

The first humans set foot on the moon. Woodstock attracted more than 350,000 rock-n-roll fans. The Pontiac Firebird Trans Am muscle car was introduced. And the Beatles gave their last public performance on the roof of Apple Records.

Oh, and the average cost of a new house was $15,550, the average monthly rent was $135, a brand new Toyota Corona cost $1,950, and gas was 35 cents a gallon!

Those were the good ol’ days …
