Merced Scholars Charter School has starting a new Hmong and Spanish classroom-based Dual Language Immersion program.
The Dual Language Immersion program takes the place of a traditional public school where students learn only one language.
While in the program, students will receive instruction in a second language, which includes either Hmong or Spanish.
The benefits of Dual Language Immersion programs include improved cognitive development, proficiency in multiple languages, cultural awareness and strong social connections with Merced County communities.
Enrollment for the 2022-23 school year is currently open for students in transitional kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade.
Space is limited and some students may be placed on a waitlist until space is available. Waitlisted students are chosen based on a lottery system.
