New Ag-Tech facility taking shape at Merced College

Anticipation is building for the opening of the new Raj Kahlon Agricultural Science and Industrial Technology Complex (AgIT) at Merced College in September.
It’s a state-of-the-art complex that will provide an innovative space for multiple disciplines including: Plant and Animal Science, Ag Business, Landscaping, Industrial Tech, Electronics, HVAC tech, and Computing Tech.
Planning began in October of 2019 and construction started in June of 2021. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is expected on Sept. 15.
The complex was made possible by a $5 million partnership between local pistachio farmer Raj Kahlon and the Merced College Foundation. It is considered the largest gift to the college campus in its history.
