Merced Area Museum Of Community Art, Exhibit #5
‘Control amid chaos’ of COVID-19
With regard to current shelter-in-place conditions, and the fact that local art museums are closed because of the coronavirus pandemic, the County Times has created the Merced Area Museum of Community Art, or better put: “The MA-MOCA,” for art fans of all ages. At this difficult time, the Times wants to do its part to help share these talented works, and bring joy and recognition to the artists and our newspaper readers.
In this, our fifth newspaper exhibit, we present on this page the work of a Merced artist and educator.
Amy Bultena’s work is about the control she finds amid the chaos of her everyday life; her compositions depict moments from her life. Her work showcases an attention to detail and order.
On this page, both the works “Tulips in Bud Vase” and “Friendship Tea” were created during the current shelter-in-place orders in response to COVID-19.
When not painting, Amy works as the Visual and Performing Arts and STEAM Coordinator at the Stanislaus County Office of Education. You can view her portfolio online at: www.amybultenaart.com
The Times thanks all the artists for sending in their works of art to the MA-MOCA!
Artists are encouraged to send us jpeg photos of their art, along with a short bio, and explanations behind the work to this email: [email protected]
