Mark your calendars to see ‘Quilts Along Forist Lane’

The Gateway Quilters’ Guild members are busy putting the finishing touches on their quilts that will be displayed at the “Quilts Along Forist Lane” event.
This event is being held on Oct. 1, from 10AM – 4PM.
Quilts will be hanging from the majestic trees, under the eaves of the homes, and scattered though out the lawns along the lane.
This event featured artists are Judith Dake and Priscilla Hise. They meet weekly to quilt and have a collection of quilts to share. The artists and their quilts will be displayed in a home on Forist Lane. Both artists will be on site to share their journey of quilting over the years.
“Quilts Along Forist Lane” is the main fundraiser for the guild. The proceeds are used have guest speakers with new teaching techniques at some of the meetings held on the third Wednesday of each month (except November and December). We also use the funds to help with our community service that we provide quilts to Child Protection Services, Nursing Homes, Veterans, Guardian Scholars, to name a few. Each year, approximately 250 quilts are handed out.
Also, at this event there will be vendors selling their wares. This will be a good time to start your Christmas Shopping.
The entrance is at Forist Lane and Wyoming Drive. Forist Lane is off of North Bear Creek Drive between G Street and McKee Avenue. For your convenience, we offer golf carts to take you to and from the show. The cost of this event is $10 and this will include bottle water and a light refreshment. Members are selling tickets prior to the show, or you may purchase your ticket at the entrance. So, mark your calendar for an eventful day. Should it rain, we will postpone the event to the following Saturday.
