Livingston will hosts its eighth annual Sweet Potato Festival this weekend at the Max Foster Sports Complex, starting Friday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Sept. 22.
Entry to the festival is free. There is a $5 fee to park on site at 2600 Walnut Ave.
If you like Sweet Potatoes this is the event of your dreams!
This event, held at the Max Foster Sports Complex, definitely pays tribute to the Great Tater with a heavenly food court packed with plenty of sweet potato specialty items from a variety of local vendors. There is also a Farmers Market that has a variety of taters to sell to benefit the local FFA.
Whether it’s pies or fries, you will find everything Sweet Potato at this. There will be live entertainment, a huge carnival with 25-plus rides, and a KidZone that will keep the young ones up to date on sweet potatoes.
They will be having a dress-your-tater contest in which Lowes Home Improvement has joined forces with the festival in hopes to have the most sweet potatoes dressed in one picture.
A big car show and Punjabi Entertainment will be featured on opening night, Sept. 20. New this year will be a Craft Beer Tasting event on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door. Also that night, Mike Hammar and the Nails will be performing on stage, as well as Cynthia Bennett with the Juke Joint Jokers Blues Band. On Sunday, there will be Lucha Libre arena wrestling and Hispanic entertainment.
Festival Hours are Friday, Sept. 20: 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 21: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 22, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
