Lights on Lake fireworks return to Lake McClure
Advance tickets still available through Friday
One of the Central Valley’s favorite Independence Day traditions returns as fireworks light up the skies over Lake McClure on Saturday, July 4.
Tickets to Lights on the Lake should be purchased in advance and are still available through Friday, July 3, at McClureFireworks.com or MercedID.org.
Visitors are invited to enjoy a full day of recreation with boating, swimming, camping and other recreation at Lakes McClure and McSwain before the evening fireworks display, which begins at dusk, approximately 9 p.m. Those recreating at Lake Yosemite on Saturday, July 4, are advised the park will close at 7 p.m. allowing visitors time to travel to Lake McClure from Merced.
Tickets must be pre-purchased through Yodel by Friday, July 3. Advance admission is $25 per vehicle and is available only through Yodel at McClureFireworks.com or MercedID.org. Some limited same-day tickets may be available at the gate for $30 per vehicle and are subject to longer wait times to enter the park.
Boaters are welcome to enjoy the fireworks from the water. Visitors without an annual boat pass must purchase a $9 Event Boat Day Use ticket through Yodel.
Annual pass holders receive free admission by presenting either their annual hangtag or annual Yodel pass.
Visitors may arrive at any time during the day. The designated fireworks viewing area at McClure Point opens at 6 p.m. Entrance to Lake McClure for the event will be through the MID Parks entrance at 9090 Lake McClure Road, Snelling.
Limited overnight camping may still be available at Lake McClure through the MID Parks reservation system.
Visitors are encouraged to bring folding chairs, sunscreen, food and beverages, coolers with plenty of ice, and clothing appropriate for hot summer weather. Those watching from a boat should also bring flashlights, dry towels and warm clothing for the return trip after dark.
Personal fireworks are prohibited in Mariposa County and will not be allowed inside the park. Law enforcement officers will be on site throughout the event, and all local ordinances will be strictly enforced.
