Le Grand High hosts First Annual Green & Gold 5K

Le Grand High School hosted a successful fundraising event for the Bulldog Track and Field team this month, raising $1,300 in funds through their First Annual Green & Gold 5K Run and Walk. The 5K got underway on Saturday, April 9 at Cesar Chavez Middle School and began with participants checking in for the fundraiser at 8AM. As the 9AM start time approached for those wishing to walk the route, they were followed by dozens of runners making their way to the starting line as the 10AM 5K start time neared. Proudly donning their Le Grand High School Green & Gold 5K Run and Walk event shirts, they readied themselves to make their way through the course that concluded at 161 South Plainsburg Road.

During the event, the Le Grand High School football team was also on hand to keep the event lively. Throughout the fundraiser Bulldog football players were on-hand to support their fellow athletes with live music and concessions for those who had worked up an appetite during the event.

As the First Annual Green & Gold 5K Run and Walk came to a close, organizers were able to declare events first trio of winners, with Jessie Juarez securing the first place win, with Luis Mora coming in second place followed by Joel Mejia in third place.
