Sharp-dressed kings of cool and lovely ladies gathered at the Merced Airport last Saturday for the High Heels & High Rollers gala put on by the Mercy Hospital Foundation and its Board of Directors.
Hundreds of supporters appeared for the event, dressed for fun-loving “high stakes” action at the Las Vegas-style themed event.
Casino card tables and roulette wheels were located inside a donated airplane hangar, and elegant dinner tables were outside near a main stage that delivered music from the “Rat-Pack” era of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and the like.
The weather was incredible, and so was the sunset that led to dancing into the evening hours.
The goal of this year’s gala was for hospital supporters to relax and have a good time, while also promoting the new Mercy Foundation Heritage Endowment for continued support of the regional medical center. Board members hope to raise $1 million by the end of the year. At this point they are more than half the way there, and momentum is building.
