Families Enjoying Local Pumpkin Patches

With the start of October, residents from the area have begun preparing for Halloween, with many making their way to Vista Ranch and Cellars Pumpkin Patch at 7326 East Highway 140 in Merced. The local pumpkin patch has become a tradition for many families, as owners and staff have been providing heirloom pumpkins, orange pumpkins, Indian corn, squash, gourds, wheat stalks, and more for nearly three decades.

The Vista Ranch Pumpkin Patch is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Outdoor dining is open every Saturday and Sunday from 11a.m. – 4 p.m., and their wine Tasting Room is open daily, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Hunter Farms Pumpkin Patch, located in a farming area near the town of Atwater, is pretty much a family amusement park, complete with a Corn Maze, Hay Ride, Barnyard Bounce, Time Travel Tractor, Billykens’ Blasters, The Corn Chute, the Zip-Bee! and a Tractor Track. There’s all kinds of activities and opportunities for group tours. And of course, all kinds of varieties of pumpkins for sale!

It runs daily through Oct. 31, but there’s so much to do, you better check out the website, HunterFamilyFarms.com, for all the details.
