Don’t miss the online auction to benefit Atwater Rotary Club

Fantastic online auction items await community members from now until 5 p.m. on April 1, and besides pure enjoyment and fun, purchasers will be helping an Atwater Rotary Club community service project!

Imagine a beach house vacation, tickets to San Francisco baseball games, homemade goodies galore, restaurant gift certificates, cars for the little ones, and a ticket to Disneyland or Disney shopping!

The Atwater Rotary Club used to have the annual Lobsterfest dinner and because of the pandemic, they had to find another way to raise money for the projects that they wanted to do.

Thank goodness Atwater Elementary School District Superintendent Dr. Sandra Schiber and Ana Boyenga, Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services, are members of Atwater Rotary Club because they were involved in the online auction project, as were Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Aaron Delworth and retired finance administrator Linda Levesque, who helped with the website.  Those interested in viewing the items or registering for bidding can access the website by going online to https://www.facebook.com/Atw.Rotary.

Boyenga told the Times, “These amazing items were donated by Rotary members and community businesses.

“Kory Billings also supported the club’s efforts.

“We have a total of 38 items, including a weekend at a beach house at Sand Dollar Beach, lots of desserts, such as Chocolate Lover’s Delight, Decadent Trio, Kahlua fudge and English toffee, and Jantz Café pies for a year.  We have El Capitan Hotel and Rainbird Restaurant gift cards.  We also have Giants vs. Dodger tickets and Giants vs. Cardinal tickets in San Francisco.  There is a clam chowder bowl lunch for 10 by Mark Chefanelli, and many gift certificates to local eateries such as Brooks Restaurant and Granny’s Pantry, and a Mimus package that includes dinner and a $50 gift certificate for Baskin Robbins Ice Cream for dessert.

“For the kids, we have children’s battery-operated classic luxury cars, and a Disney package that includes a $100 gift certificate which can be used for tickets to Disneyland or shopping, as well as a stuffed Mickey and Minnie Mouse set!

“You can give donations of any amount to Youth Community Services to help support the elementary schools with literacy bags for incoming kindergarteners, or you can support high school students with leadership training and scholarships and youth clubs such as baseball and soccer.

Boyenga said, “We’re looking forward to the community supporting our future Rotary projects for the coming year.

“Thank you all for supporting our online auction.”
