Courthouse honors its docents, volunteers

As they do every year, the good people at the Merced County Courthouse Museum honored their own this week with a Volunteer Recognition lunch of delicious rosemary chicken, pasta, and celebratory cake at the Italo American Lodge.

The Perfect Attendance Award was presented to 40 museum docents and gift shop volunteers who worked a minimal of 30 hours in 2018: Rick Albright, Gabby Andrade, Vincent Andrade, Judi Arthur, Judy Bradley, Kathy Brady, Timmie Bressler, Bernice Bryant, Rosemary Bunce, Belinda Burnett, Michle Burroughs, Joann Callaway, Ann Carson, Liam Knight (Docent of the Year), John Carlos, Karen Chastain, Cara Cometta, Mary Frances Ellis, Durell Ewing, Geri Freer, Lyn George, Joyce Hambley, DonnaLee Hartman, Devan Hinojosa, Gaylan Hyson, Vivian Knepel, Dorothy Knox, Jerry Kohn, Linda Kohn, Jane Lawrence, Peggy Merritt, Anthony Ochoa, Charlotte Pavelko, Ron Pirtle, Sandy Price, Dona Robertson, Roberta Saling, Marilyn Silva, Mary Jo Stavros, and Pat Westfall.

The Above and Beyond Award is to honor those who worked a minimum of 100 volunteer hours at the Museum projects and Historical Society events in 2018. Those in this category are: Judi Arthur (102), Kathy Brady (127), Timmie Bressler (176), Belinda Burnett (107), Ann Carson (268), Durell Ewing (167), DonnaLee Hartman (162.5), Liam Knight (119) and Roberta Saling (207).

The Legacy Circle Award is for those who have worked 1000+ volunteer hours or a minimum of 30 years of service as of 2018.

Donna Hall with 36 years of service, Karen Chastain with 1066 hours, and Dorothy Knox with 1000 hours have joined 9 other volunteers in the “Circle.”
