COVID stats in Merced County show surging numbers; Five deaths reported in one day
Confirmed cases up 269 from Thursday

Merced County Public Health reported on Friday afternoon five more COVID-related deaths in a day’s time.
Since Thursday, four females and one male, all over the age of 65, were reported in “COVID-related deaths.”
Two of the people who passed away were reported with “underlying symptoms.”
As of 3:30 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2020, there are 12,891 confirmed cases (+269 from Thursday) of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) in Merced County.
Approximately 1,905 of those cases are active.
And 191 have died.
As of Dec. 4, a total of 79,866 tests have been performed in Merced County: 12,891 of those tests are confirmed as positive cases. These figures include testing through both the commercial and public health lab systems.
