Community comes together for Breakfast with Santa

Local residents came together last Saturday in order to enjoy the holiday festivities offered by First Baptist Church in Merced, as well as support those in need through the efforts of Love Inc.

While no guests were turned away, those who could were encouraged to offer a donation of toiletries in order to help support Love INC’s Homeless Shower Ministry. The event was organized and led by First Baptist Church Pastor Joel Norman.

Members of the church prepared a lovely pancake breakfast for those who attended the event. In addition to the food, there were activity tables set up for the children as well as a photo opportunity with Santa as well as Mrs. Claus. Laughter and the sweet aroma of fresh pancakes filled the air as community members socialized and brought together support for the homeless.

“We want to give the community a reason to smile this year! This is something we do as a ‘Christmas Card’ to the community,” said Paster Joel Norman.

The First Baptist Church continued the Christmas festivities through the weekend with a performance by its youth choir on Sunday morning, as well as an evening light holiday show with festive treats.
