Castle Air Museum to host Golf Tourney

The Castle Air Museum has announced the next edition of its popular Charity Golf Tournament to be held at the Madera Golf and Country Club on Saturday, April 22.
This year the musuem is honored to invite 101-year-old WWII veteran Ralph Graham from Waco, Texas. He was a B-17 Bomber radio operator on a fateful mission back on Christmas Eve in 1944. That 2,000-aircraft bomber formation was led by General Frederick Castle — the namesake of Castle Air Force Base, the Castle Air Museum and the posthumous recipient of the Congressional Medal of honor. It was on this mission that General Castle lost his life.
Graham is one of a now small number of WWII veterans and a member of “The Greatest Generation.”
The golf tournament on Aprill 22 will start with registration at 10 a.m. and shotgun tee off at noon. $125 per player, and registration includes golf cart, food, tee prizes and awards. Sponsorships available. For more info., call (209) 723-2178.
The Madera Golf & Country Club is located at 19297 Road 26, in Madera.
