Atwater thinks big for small business
The City of Atwater is continuing their support for small business and encouraging consumers to shop locally by hosting their annual Small Business Saturday this Saturday, November 30th. Starting at 9 AM shops and businesses throughout Atwater will host special shopping events that promote savings and sales to participating shoppers.
Small Business Saturday has been a staple of the holiday shopping weekend that begins with Black Friday the day after Thanksgiving and ends with Cyber Monday the Monday after. Shopping small is fundamental for the success of smaller businesses in an economy where consumers typically so their holiday shopping at bigger corporations.
“Atwater businesses are thinking big for shopping small this year!” Chris Coffelt, owner of TLC Postal Center and one of the organizers for Small Business Saturday, said of the event.
The Atwater Small Business Saturday will also be hosting the Customer Mini Gold Tournament in which participants travel from participating businesses to business putting into a stimulated putting green hole in hopes of making the ball into the hole in the least attempts possible.
“This gives residents chance to visit locally owned small businesses,” Coffelt continued. “And a chance for them to get to know the business around them.”
Participants will receive a bingo style card that will be stamped as they make their way from business to business. The Final Hole will be at Rancho Del Golf Course located at 5250 Green Sands Ave, where the final winners will be announced. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
Participants can begin the game at any participating business. For more information on the event contact Coffelt at (209) 358-1200.
