How do Merced Soroptimist members keep doing it year after year?
The annual Hors d’oeuvre Festival, now in its 46 year, was an event where the “Who’s Who” of Merced County turned out last Friday night, May 19.
The Great Gatsby theme allowed the ladies to dress in their finest gowns and some of the guys got into the act too.
The money raised goes to many of the Soroptimist International of Merced’s projects — such as college scholarships for women in need of financial assistance.
Thanks to the Hall family for allowing their beautiful yard to be the setting of the event. The weather was mild and perfect, considering the hot days which Merced had been experiencing in recent days. The turnout was excellent, around 350 people.
Some of those in attendance were bused to the event from Yosemite Church.
Those who came with an appetite were not disappointed as the booths had a delicious variety of specially made hors d’oeuvres, even ice cream with tasty homemade toppings.
