Drifters, Jason Cade to perform at Merced Theatre

The Merced Theatre Foundation will present The Drifters on Thursday, May 2, at 7 p.m., inside the historic Merced Theatre in downtown Merced.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Early bird pricing: $31, $39, $47

Taking the ardent fervor of their gospel days and channeling it into soulful R&B arrangements, the Drifters manage to paint vivid New York scenes with their syrupy-sweet voices. Mellow yet savvy, the vocal group behind such hits as “Stand By Me,” “Under the Boardwalk,” and “This Magic Moment” works to link Fifties rhythm & blues with Sixties soul music, elevating the everyday to a state of sanctity.
Tickets went on sale this week. “Early Bird” pricing available in limited quantities, while supplies last. Tickets can be purchased online at: mercedtheatre.org, or by phone at 381-0500. Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday from noon – 5 p.m.
