Ahoy There Matey! It’s Time To Set Sail For The 47th Annual Hors d’oeuvre Festival

The wonderful ladies of Soroptimist International of Merced are preparing for the 47th annual Hors d’oeuvre Festival on May 17.

This is one of the most popular local fundraisers of the year, and hundreds are expected to join in.

This year’s theme is “Sailing the Seven Seas,” and guests are encouraged to “get their pirate snarls on.”

The outdoor extravaganza will be held at the beautiful Hall family residence in north Merced, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Expect Soroptimist members to be dressed to the nines, with teams set up at several Hors d’oeuvre booths. Get ready for such delights as Gorgonzola Penne Pasta, Tabouli Salad, Jerk Chicken Bites, “Rumaki” Bacon-wrapped Dates with Water Chestnuts, and ‘Second Star to the Left’ Lemon Cookies, among so many other delicacies.

“We are looking forward to great local participation,” said Teri Albrecht, the festival co-chair, along with Sarah Westfall. “We’re raising funds for our local scholarship projects, as well as our regional and international programs.”

Tickets are $45. Call Justi at (209) 345-9743.
