A taste of the Merced County Fair is still within reach

Despite the cancellation of the 2021 Merced County Fair, CEO Teresa Burrola still wanted to do something to give the community a taste of the fair to enjoy, while supporting its vendors and an industry that has gone a full year without a single in-person fair due to COVID-19.

That led to the creation of the Merced County Fair’s new “Fair Food Favorites” event, which will take place April 8 – 11.

It is free to attend this walk-up event that will feature fair food from seven different food booths. Attendees who want to can stay and eat at “socially-distanced” picnic tables in the grass area by the Administration Office.

“Our drive-thru fair food event last year was very popular, so we wanted to recreate it but with a twist,” said Burrola. “We extended it to a four-day event and shifted from a drive-thru to a walk-up format. This gives the community something safe and fun to do, satisfies their fair food craving and hopefully spreads some joy.”
